Bob Behn is prepared to bring a custom-designed version of his award-winning* executive-education program to your public agency or governmental jurisdiction. At the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Bob serves as the faculty chair of Driving Government Performance: Leadership Strategies that Produce Results. He is available to conduct a customized version of this executive program for public agencies.
Driving Government Performance for Your Organization
This custom course is typically conducted at a retreat center a few-hours drive from the agency's or jurisdiction’s headquarters, lasts three-and-a-half days to four days, and engages the fifty top executives in the agency's leadership team. Like the program conducted at Harvard's Kennedy School, the customized version of Driving Government Performance will focus on the performance strategies that public executives can use to motivate government employees and their collaborators to produce better results. The program will be designed to illustrate and examine how the program’s participants can be employed to improve the agency’s or jurisdiction’s performance. It will be carefully tailored to reflect the specific performance challenge facing the agency.
A customized program will be particularly useful for the leaders of public agencies who recognize that the need to produce visible and valuable results will only continue to grow. It will be valuable for all public executives who have the responsibility for ratcheting up performance.
Bob Behn’s Experience Conducting Executive Education
In 1984, as director of The Governor's Center at Duke University, Bob began conducting executive education for state officials. Since then, he has extensive experience in conducting and teaching executive-education programs and seminars. For over two decades now, he has taught numerous executive-education programs at Duke, at Harvard, and in retreat centers. For example, he has led sessions at retreats for gubernatorial staff and cabinets in Delaware, Maryland, Missouri, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Washington. He has conducted executive-education seminars for public agencies in over
Alaska, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
